Australian Government Report into Bullying
Late in November the Government released the Report into Workplace Bully—We just want it to stop. The Report outlines some significant information about the enormous personal and organisational cost which relate to workplace bully which has been described as psychological violence. The report also included figures which have been estimated by the Productivity Commission that workplace bullying costs the Australian economy between $6 billion and $36 billion annually. The Standing Committee on Education and Employment received submissions from individuals and organisations as to the extent of workplace bullying in Australian workplaces. The Committee have made 23 recommendations which are now under consideration by the Government.
