FWA confirms adult building apprentice rates
FWA has recently issued a decision confirming the method of calculation of adult apprentice rates of pay under the Building & Construction General On-site Award.
The Master Builders Associations made application to Fair Work Australia last year in relation to the manner in which adult apprentice wages were calculated in the Building and Construction General Onsite Award. The Tribunal's decision confirmed that adult apprentices get the benefit of industry, special and tool allowances (and other relevant allowances where applicable) in calculating their rate of pay.
In an update to this story, a full bench of FWA has confirmed Senior Deputy President Watson's decision and refused leave to appeal the decision.
