Annual Wage Increase 2012

Fair Work Australia has announced its annual wage decision, increasing award rates of pay and the national minimum wage by 2.9% from the first pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2012.  The national minimum wage for adults will increase to $606.40 per week or $15.96 per hour.  The casual loading for award free employees will increase to 23%.

Rates applicable to apprentices and trainees and allowances based on the standard rate in each award will increase by 2.9%.  Expense related allowances will increase by the relevant index set out in each award.  Where an index is a negative amount the expense related allowance will not be adjusted.
