FWC Annual Wage Review Decision - increase 2.4%

The Fair Work Commission handed down their Annual Wage Review decision on 31 May 2016. The increase to the federal adult minimum wage is 2.4%. The federal adult minimum wage is now $672.70 per week or $17.70 per hour. This is an increase of $15.80 per week or 41 cents per hour. The 2.4% increase will also be applied to award rates of pay. The 2.4% increase is also applied to allowances that are derived from the standard rate, such as industry and disability allowances. Expense related allowances such as travel, meal and accommodation will be adjusted by the relevant Consumer Price Index.
