Annual Wage Review Decision 2015 handed down

This afternoon, 2 June 2015 the Fair Work Commission(FWC)  handed down its Annual Wage Review decision for 2015.  The increase to the adult federal minimum wage and modern awards is 2.5%.  The FWC stated that the increase is lower that last year's 3% due to  lower inflation as well as increased unemployment.  The new weekly minimum age is $656.90 per week and $17.29 per hour.  The increase will be effective from the first pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2015.
